Masters of Drawing. Sue Blake MA SGFA: 10:30 - 12:30 The Big Draw Saturday Sessions
An informal art appreciation talk followed by a hands-on drawing session.
Have fun making marks inspired by famous artists' techniques.
Free but places are limited.

• Enjoy a presentation of slides, exploring drawings by famous masters.
Be guided through ways to analyse and interpret the works.
[approx. 30 - 45 minutes]
• Inspired by what you've seen, try some experimental mark-making of your own.
[ approx. 60 minutes]
• The suggested theme for these experimental drawings is "Trees", but you will be welcome to draw any subject in any way you wish.
Important
Please bring some paper and whatever drawing equipment you have to hand. This could simply be a pencil, or you may wish to bring a range of media such as pens, ink, markers, graphite sticks, coloured pencils etc. Don't forget an eraser and sharpener too.
Please no charcoal or soft pastel on this occasion.
A limited supply of materials will be available to borrow/share on the day, so please don't worry if you only have the basics.

Sue's election to membership of the national drawing society [the Society of Graphic Fine Art] recognises the significance given to drawing in her work. She is also a knowledgeable art historian whose lively, informal presentations aim to inspire listeners to explore, understand and enjoy art more.
