Round House Gallery Ceramic Pop Up : Featuring ceramics from Phillip Evans
For three days while the Ashbourne Lantern Parade takes place we welcome a ceramic pop up shop within our gallery from our friends The Round House Gallery Foston, featuring Phillip Evans Pottery. We will be opening late on the Friday Night.
The Round House Gallery was established in 1989 in a round-fronted Georgian building in Tutbury, Staffordshire, from which it took its name, The Round House. Its aim was to promote the exhibition and sale of work by leading craft potters, all made and sourced within the UK.
More than thirty-five years later, this goal remains unchanged. In 1991, the gallery was selected by the Crafts Council in recognition of the quality of the work exhibited. This acknowledgement helped to further establish the gallery's reputation and increased the number of visitors and collectors drawn to its doors.
By 1998, the demands of a growing family and an expanding business created the need for additional exhibition space. In 1999, Leah's former family home was purchased, and the gallery was reopened in Foston, approximately four miles from Tutbury.
