Workshop Leader  Terms and Conditions 

Hopton Hall Gallery engages the workshop/event leader to run the agreed workshop/event  listed below on the following Terms and Conditions and agrees to be bound to these.  The workshop/event leader agrees to be present at the workshop/event and agrees to be bound to these Terms and Conditions.

Payment, Fees & Expenses

Our fees and expenses for the workshop/event to be paid to Hopton Hall Gallery are: 

  • Total inc VAT is £15 per participant  for full day or £7.50 per participant for half day  maximum 12 for workshops.
  • Total inc VAT is £3 per attendee maximum 30 for events (talks/demonstrations).

 

What Our Fees Cover

  • Access to facilities
  • Tea/coffee/juice/water 
  • Sweet snack
  • Help with set up /take down 
  • Marketing on our website and social media
  • Staffing costs
  • VAT

 

Workshop Timings

Workshops can be:

  • Full Day: 10:30 - 3:30 
  • Half Day: 10:30 - 13:30 or 12:30 - 3:30

 

Attendee Bookings

We do not take bookings from your attendees but will direct participants to your website/booking link. 

 

Setting Your Fees

When setting your prices per participant please refer to the Artist Union Rates of Pay to ensure you are paying yourself the correct amount. The Artist Union recommended rates of pay for a presentation - presentation includes giving talks or presentations about an artist's work, leading workshops, and giving speeches to groups of school students, among other things.

  • New graduate artist - £216.63 a day  £119.15 per ½ day 
  • 3+ years experience - £284.31 a day  £156.38 per ½ day
  • 5+ years experience - £352.01 a day  £193.61 per ½ day

 

Workshop Example

An example breakdown for a full day workshop for a 5+ years experience artist earning £352.01 a day with 12 participants.

£15 Hopton Hall Gallery Fee

£29 per participant Artist Union Day Rate

£10 per head materials cost

Total= £54.33


Other costs  to consider inc. Travel for you at 0.45 per mile and preparation time.

Participant Fee you could charge is £60 a day + in order to cover costs.

This is just an example, you can of course charge as you wish but we still require our fee of £15 per participant.


Talk/Demonstration Example

An example breakdown for a 5+ years experience artist earning £193.61 per ½ day with 30 attendees.

£3  Hopton Hall Gallery Fee per attendee

£6.45 per attendee Artist Union Day Rate

Total= £9.45


Other costs to consider inc. Travel at 0.45 per mile and preparation time.

Attendee Fee you could charge per talk/demo is £12+ in order to cover costs.

This is just an example, you can of course charge as you wish but we still require our fee of £3 per attendee.

 

Terms & Conditions

1. The workshop/event leader agrees to undertake to conduct the workshop/event  listed above and pay Hopton Hall Gallery has understood and agreed Fees and Expenses.

2. Hopton Hall Gallery shall use best endeavours to co-promote and advertise the workshop and shall consult with the workshop/event leader concerning such promotion and advertising. 

3. The workshop/event leader is required to attend the workshop/event  specified above.

4. Hopton Hall Gallery shall not use the workshop leader/teacher's name or likeness for the endorsement of any product or service without the Artist's written consent.

5. In the unlikely event  Hopton Hall Gallery needs to cancel the workshop/event, for whatever reason, Hopton Hall Gallery shall immediately notify the workshop leader/teacher of this in writing via email and or telephone and pay a refund of any monies taken. It will be the responsibility of the workshop/event leader to inform participants or attendees. We will also make a social media post and notice of cancellation on our website.

6. If the workshop/teacher is unable to fulfil, or is delayed in fulfilling, their obligations under this Agreement owing to circumstances beyond the workshop leader's reasonable control, the workshop leader shall inform  Hopton Hall Gallery of this fact as soon as is reasonably practical. Such non-fulfilment or delay shall be deemed not to constitute a breach of this Agreement.

7. This Agreement shall be subject to the laws of the UK and any dispute relating to the subject matter of this Agreement shall be subject to the courts of the UK.

8. Hopton Hall Gallery will ensure that the technical equipment such as computers, projectors, sound systems are all in working order and are checked prior to the workshop/event  taking place. If such equipment should not be in working order on the day of the workshop/event  it is the responsibility of  Hopton Hall Gallery to ensure that this is fixed so it doesn't affect the planned workshop/event  planned above.
