Gina is a Derbyshire-based artist whose creative journey began in childhood, where an early love of drawing laid the foundation for her artistic career. She went on to study at Chesterfield College before working in film and theatrical makeup at Shepperton Film Studios in Surrey, later expanding her visual practice through photography.
After returning to Derbyshire, Gina balanced her creative work with family life, raising her two sons while continuing to work in photography. During this time, her personal artistic practice quietly re-emerged, initially through painting murals for her children, and gradually evolving into a dedicated and distinctive body of work.
Her portfolio now encompasses large-scale, semi-abstract landscapes inspired by the dramatic moorlands and expansive skies of Derbyshire, alongside intricately detailed, oriental-inspired decorative pieces featuring exotic birds and flora. Her work is characterised by a strong sense of atmosphere, texture and a fascination with shifting light and space.
Now working as a full-time artist, Gina creates both original paintings and bespoke mural commissions, bringing her distinctive style to both canvas and interior spaces.
