Lynne’s inspiration is drawn from local rolling hills, farms, animals and flowers with flamboyant use of colour and paint.
Lynne is an award-winning British artist whose work captivates with its intensity, colour, and emotional immediacy. Best known for her striking animal portraits, her paintings possess an uncanny ability to engage the viewer each subject rendered with such presence that it seems to return the gaze, drawing the observer into a silent, compelling dialogue. As noted by Mike Smith of Derbyshire Life Magazine, her work invites the viewer to become part of the composition itself.
Working with vivid, saturated colour and vigorous, uninhibited brushwork, Lynne creates paintings that are both expressive and immersive. Whether depicting animals, landscapes, or floral subjects, her distinctive style celebrates energy, movement, and a deep connection to the natural world.
Lynne holds a BA (Hons) in Painting and Printmaking, alongside a PGCE in teaching, grounding her practice in both technical expertise and a strong academic foundation. She paints daily from her gallery studio on the fringe of the Peak District, where the surrounding rural landscape provides a constant source of inspiration. The rolling hills, farms, wildlife, and seasonal flora of Derbyshire are translated onto canvas through her bold and expressive visual language.
Her studio, nestled in the tranquil Drone Valley, offers visitors the opportunity to experience her work in a relaxed and informal setting. Here, Lynne continues to explore and express her enduring passion for nature, creating works that are as vibrant and alive as the landscapes that inspire them.
