Born in 1947 and based in Chesterfield, North Derbyshire, Arwyn is a former educator who now dedicates himself entirely to his art. A lifelong painter, he has exhibited at venues ranging from the British Watercolour Society and The Great Sheffield Art Show to the Manhattan Gallery in Nottingham and local Chesterfield galleries. His work reflects a deep fascination with architecture and the rural landscape, producing evocative interpretations of cottages, barns, and the sweeping vistas of the Derbyshire Peak District. Known for his versatility, Arwyn works across acrylics, oils, watercolour, pastel, pencil, and charcoal, moving fluidly between representational and abstract forms to capture both the essence and energy of his subjects. He also undertakes commissions, creating bespoke architectural, landscape, still life, and animal portraits with meticulous attention to detail and a personal touch.
