Jo Gray is an award winning animal artist based in Nottingham.Working primarily in acrylics, Jo creates detailed animal paintings using layers of paint and glazes to capture lifelike textures, character and expression.
After studying Graphic Design and Illustration at Central Saint Martins, she began her career as a mural artist, creating large-scale artworks for theme parks, sports centres and private clients before dedicating herself to fine art. Working primarily in acrylics, Jo creates detailed animal paintings using layers of paint and glazes to capture lifelike textures, character and expression. A British Art Prize finalist, she has exhibited and sold work at prestigious venues including the Mall Galleries and the London Art Biennale, and received the Princess Michael of Kent Award at the Society of Women Artists exhibition.
