Laura is a community-engaged textile artist based in Derbyshire whose practice brings together textiles, storytelling and public history. Combining a lifelong love of stitch with a Master's degree in Public History, she creates collaborative textile artworks that explore memory, identity, belonging and place. Working with embroidery, appliqué, patchwork and quilting, Laura values connection over perfection, celebrating the unique marks each maker leaves behind. Using reclaimed textiles and her signature red thread, she invites communities to share personal stories that become part of larger collective artworks. Her work demonstrates how textiles can preserve memories, strengthen connections and celebrate shared histories.
