Tim Rose works in oil and watercolour, drawing inspiration from life in the city and its close proximity to the Derbyshire countryside. His practice is rooted in an exploration of light and atmosphere, whether the subject is a portrait or the interior of a cathedral.
Tim Rose works in oil and watercolour, drawing inspiration from life in the city and its close proximity to the Derbyshire countryside. His practice is rooted in an exploration of light and atmosphere, whether the subject is a portrait or the interior of a cathedral.
Working directly from observation, he paints and sketches on location, responding to what is before him in the most appropriate medium. He has worked extensively in many of Derbyshire's great houses and gardens, including Hopton Hall, Chatsworth and Haddon Hall, and many of his images are reproduced as cards and prints.
Tim Rose has exhibited widely in galleries throughout the UK and in London with the Royal Watercolour Society and the Royal Institute of Watercolours. His commercial clients have included a range of well-known companies across the financial, legal, and commercial sectors.
