Cheryl Wilbraham is a watercolour painter and a Fellow of the Society of Botanical Artists. A recipient of an RHS Silver-Gilt Medal for Botanical Painting, she is best known for her detailed botanical paintings and floral studies.
Recent work reveals a divergence into new subject areas. While remaining firmly rooted in watercolour, her aim is to create paintings that are both experimental and developmental, describing and reflecting a spontaneous and emotional response to her chosen subject matter.
Although widely recognised for her botanical studies and floral paintings, her more recent work expands beyond traditional botanical watercolours to explore the wider natural environment, particularly landscapes, seascapes, and woodlands. Her practice encompasses a varied range of subjects and techniques, including realism and semi-abstraction. Living and working between Derbyshire and France, these environments provide ongoing inspiration for her paintings.
Cheryl Wilbraham is a Fellow of the Society of Botanical Artists and was awarded the St Cuthberts Mill Award in 2010. She is also the recipient of an RHS Silver-Gilt Medal in Botanical Painting (BBC Gardeners' World Live, 2010). In addition, she is a member of Peak District Artisans, with whom she regularly exhibits, and is both a versatile artist and a qualified tutor.
