Rob is a printmaker specialising in finely detailed wood engravings inspired by the British countryside. Following a career in education, design, and illustration, he now focuses on capturing the quiet, often overlooked elements of the landscape, with an increasing emphasis on its layered histories. His work has been widely exhibited and is held in both public and private collections.
Following a distinguished career in education, design, and illustration, Rob now dedicates his practice to the refined discipline of printmaking. A former member of the Birmingham Artists Group and the Birmingham Illustrators Group, his work reflects both technical mastery and a deeply considered artistic vision.
Rob studied Painting with Printmaking at Newport College of Art and Design and furthered his education at University College Cardiff. His work has been exhibited at notable institutions including Wednesbury Art Gallery, the E.M. Flint Gallery, and the Midlands Arts Centre, and he is currently represented by the Old Station Gallery, Rowsley. His illustrations are held in museum and private collections, spanning children's literature and historical publications.
