Throughout February 2026, a group of talented artists spent time at Hopton Hall, drawing inspiration from the beautiful snowdrops that fill the grounds at this time of year. Artists Cheryl Wilbraham, Lesley Linley, Liz Wellby, Martin Sloman and Rebecca Morledge immersed themselves in the landscape, responding to the quiet beauty of these iconic blooms.
Visitors to the café were treated to this special event when the artists demonstrated painting snowdrops, delighting customers who were able to watch the creative process unfold. Using delicate watercolour and printmaking techniques, the artists explored the fragile elegance of the flowers, capturing their subtle forms, soft light and gentle movement.
The time spent at Hopton Hall this February marks the beginning of a longer creative journey. The artists will continue developing the ideas and inspiration gathered here throughout the year, working towards a dedicated exhibition that will take place at Hopton Hall Gallery in February 2027.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the artists for their time, enthusiasm and the wonderful work they have already created. We look forward to seeing how these early inspirations grow into the exciting exhibition to come.
