Portrait & The Human Form unveiled in Hopton Hall Gallery’s latest exhibitions
Ashbourne’s Hopton Hall Gallery is to launch its funkiest exhibitions to date, with a solo exhibition from Amadora, the 2025 winner of the Peak District Artisans (PDA) Young Emerging Artist Award, and a supporting Portrait & Human Form exhibition bringing together diverse interpretations of the human figure. The exhibitions take place until 26th August 2026 and will be marked by a special ‘Meet the Artists’ open evening on Friday, 7th August (7pm – 9pm) where Amadora will also be presented with her award.
Hopton Hall Gallery Director Ruth Matthews said:
“It’s the perfect time to celebrate Hopton Hall Gallery’s successful first three months as Ashbourne’s newest creative space. During that time, we’ve welcomed over 2,500 visitors.
“Amadora’s funky, colourful style uses vivid acrylics, spray paint, and oil pastels to capture energetic, emotion-driven portraits. Her creative "Cars & Art" collaboration with rising British motorsport driver Rowan Campbell-Pilling is currently on display in the gallery window. Its striking 70x90cm acrylic and metal paint marker canvas capturing Rowan alongside his Formula 4 car is already attracting a lot of attention!
“Amadora’s exhibition (which can be previewed on the following video: Amadora’s solo exhibition at Hopton Hall Gallery) is the perfect complement to our ‘Portrait & Human Form’ exhibition which takes a more in-depth look at the human body. I can’t wait to see the responses of visitors to both over the coming weeks.”
