Raised in rural Somerset and now long settled in Derbyshire, Ally creates contemporary realist sculptures inspired by the natural landscape.
Working primarily with reclaimed copper and wood, her work explores the interplay of light and shadow, celebrating the character of landscapes while reflecting their history, folklore, and deeper sense of place. Through carefully crafted forms and sustainable materials, each sculpture seeks to capture both the physical beauty and enduring stories of the natural world.
In 2025, Ally enjoyed a breakthrough year, with sculptures selected for prestigious open exhibitions at the Royal Cambrian Academy, the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, the Broadway Arts Show, and the Tarpey Gallery Open, where she was also invited to exhibit in 2026. She received awards at the Old Lock Up Gallery in Cromford, where she is now a resident artist, and was subsequently invited to exhibit at the Artifex Gallery in Sutton Coldfield and at New Brewery Arts in Cirencester. Alongside these achievements, she has continued to expand her practice by developing films that reveal the inspiration behind her sculptures and by exploring new techniques, including copper leaf application and traditional wood carving.
